Reliance Jio is planning to launch its much awaited “4G feature phone” priced at Rs 500, but there is no official information about price and release date. Earlier the media report suggest that these devices will be priced between Rs 999 to Rs 1,500, but this new report by Economic Times says that the company will be subsidizing the phone to make the device cheaper and more accessible to the lower end of the user base.
This new move will be placed a very important role, to increase their subscribers because the company growth has slowed down a bit. The company wants to change this scenario.
Reliance Jio Rs 500 4G VoLTE Mobile Phone:
Reliance Telecom Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani may launch the new 4G VoLTE feature phone worth Rs 500 during its annual general meeting (AGM) on July 21, the report said. The new 4G feature phone is expected to be launched under the LYF brand, which is a part of the Reliance Jio Digital.
Jio presently offers LFY smartphones which start at low price Rs 3,000 in the market 4G phones segment. The Jio has already created a huge disruption in the telecom market after its launch of Jio 4G SIM services back in September last year. Maybe this new feature phone would create disrupt the mobile market again. This will increase more mobile users to shift to 4G network.
Jio 4G VoLTE Feature Handsets Specifications
The company has reportedly already placed ordered for around 18-20 million handsets with Chinese manufacturers such as Zhejiang Techain Electronics Technology Co, Shenzhen Chino-E Communication Co, Crave and Megaphone, said the report. The shipments could begin as early as the end of July or the first half of next month.
According to previous reports, the Reliance Jio 4G VoLTE feature mobile will come in two different processors:
- One featuring a Qualcomm processor,
- The second one is Spreadtrum chip processor.
Come to the specifications: – The new phone is expected with 2.4-inch screen, 512MB RAM, 4GB internal storage with an optional expansion support through microSD card. VoLTE device will come with -2MP (megapixel) rear camera, and VGA (Video Graphics Array) front snapper. As expected, it will come preloaded with Jio’s suite of apps. Apart from the Jio SIM for 4G connectivity, the feature phones will include connectivity options like Wi-Fi, NFC and GPS.
